Ownership

What you will own

  • Design and implement core platform capabilities and product features using Rust
  • Translate product requirements into technical specifications, including API design and architecture plans
  • Develop maintainable domain architectures with strong test coverage and thoughtful abstractions
  • Manage the full feature lifecycle from initial design documentation to post-release iteration
  • Collaborate with front-end engineers and product managers in an asynchronous, remote-first environment
  • Conduct code reviews and create technical documentation to uphold high engineering standards
  • Enhance team execution through technical mentorship, pairing, and pragmatic decision-making

Fit

What we look for

  • 3+ years of production experience with Rust
  • Significant background in backend engineering and API design
  • Deep understanding of systems engineering, including concurrency and distributed systems
  • Proven ability to design and evolve resilient, maintainable software architectures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for remote-first collaboration
  • Experience with data-intensive systems, including databases, streaming, or storage engines
  • Background in building developer platforms or public-facing APIs
  • Proficiency in performance profiling and optimization within Rust
  • Experience turning ambiguous product needs into shippable platform features
