What this role is about
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Sr Full Stack Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and optimization of our Payroll Management System (PMS).
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java Spring Boot, JPA, Oracle 12c, API Gateway (Apigee), WebLogic, and Splunk, coupled with solid hands-on experience in front-end technologies (Angular and AngularJS).
This role requires both technical leadership and active coding responsibilities, including code reviews, mentoring engineers, writing efficient/testable code, and enforcing best practices across the engineering team.

About the team
This is for a client based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The working days are from Sunday to Thursday. Week-end is Friday - Saturday.
Ownership
What you will own
- Lead and mentor engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery through code reviews, best practices, and guidance
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient solutions using Java Spring Boot, JPA, and Oracle 12c
- Oversee and optimize API Gateway (Apigee) integrations and security
- Manage deployments and runtime environments on WebLogic Application Server
- Apply resource domain–driven architecture for modularity and maintainability
- Define, enforce, and execute testing strategies (unit, integration, performance)
- Monitor and troubleshoot systems using Splunk, proactively improving performance and reliability
- Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams to align technical delivery with business objectives
Fit
What we look for
- 5+ years of professional Sr software development experience
- Strong expertise in Java Spring Boot and JPA/Hibernate
- Proven hands-on experience with Oracle 12c (schema design, query optimization, performance tuning)
- Experience with API Gateway (Apigee) – design, implementation, and management of secure APIs
- Practical experience deploying and running apps on WebLogic Application Server
- Splunk expertise for monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting enterprise systems
- Proficiency with Angular (2+) and AngularJS for UI development
- Solid understanding of Resource Domain–Driven Architecture
- Strong command of software engineering practices: Git workflows, CI/CD, test automation, and design patterns
- Demonstrated leadership in code reviews, mentoring engineers, and architectural decision-making
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Domain knowledge in Payroll, HR, or Financial Systems
- Familiarity with Jenkins & Fortify
- Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (PCI DSS, SOC2, GDPR)
- Experience with continuous monitoring and observability tools beyond Splunk (e.g., ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Strong knowledge of performance benchmarking and optimization for high-traffic enterprise applications
