We are looking for a proactive and organized Legal Assistant to support a busy legal practice specializing in residential real estate transactions and estate planning. In this role, you will manage day-to-day administrative and operational tasks, coordinate documents and deadlines, communicate with clients and external institutions, and help ensure matters progress efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a remote environment, takes ownership of their work, and enjoys working independently with minimal supervision.
Ownership
What you will own
- Follow up with courts, government agencies, and third parties regarding case statuses and filings via phone and email.
- Coordinate real estate closings and support transaction-related activities.
- Organize, maintain, and track legal documents, case files, and important deadlines.
- Communicate professionally with clients through email, phone, and messaging platforms.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, legal research, and general administrative tasks.
- Monitor ongoing matters and proactively ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Maintain accurate records and support efficient day-to-day legal operations.
- Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and independently resolve routine issues.
Fit
What we look for
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Administrative Assistant, or in a similar support role.
- Basic understanding of real estate transactions and terminology.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Comfortable making professional phone calls in English to courts, government agencies, and third parties.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and confidential information.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with common productivity and communication tools.
- Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely.
- Availability to work with US Eastern Time, approximately 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM ET, Monday through Friday.
